Due to Security Issues, June Conference Cancelled
We want to thank Sol Mary Valencia and the entire Colombian Conference Team for creating the Vision for a gathering of peace leaders in Medellรญn from June 4 to 8, 2018. Unfortunately, the political situation in Colombia, due to the polarization of the electorate about the Nobel winning Peace Deal with the FARC, has created uncertainty and put our leaders at potential risk. Our main priority is the safety of our leaders around the globe.
There will be many opportunities in the future for gatherings of International Cities of Peace leaders. Indeed, there are conferences being developed for this year and next. Stay tuned for more detailed information.
Here is the statement by event organizer and host Sun Mary Valencia of the Sun Foundation of Medellรญn. We all thank her for her extensive work for peace. We also thank all the leaders who had hoped to attend the Congress. The work for peace continues.
