Mini-grants to Cities of Peace in Africa
STOP THE SPREAD IN AFRICA!
The leaders of thirteen Cities of Peace in Africa have received $200 mini-grants for Virus Prevention in their community: Fizi, D.R. Congo; Monrovia, Liberia; Bamenda, Cameroon; Nateete, Uganda; Kubwa, Nigeria; Mathare, Kenya; Kabarnet, Kenya; Wamba, Nigeria; Kawempe, Uganda; Uyo, Nigeria; Kanyana, Uganda; Mwenga, D.R. Congo; and Kabompo, Zambia.
These vetted and trusted leaders have received the funds and are providing receipts for purchases of the Virus Prevention Kits, which include items such as thermometers, anti-bacterial soap, face masks, information sheets, etc. Some leaders have offered ideas such as the Community Wash Station in the photo below. Others are buying solar and hand powered radios so people can stay in touch and get information on the virus.
No overhead. No corruption. Just plain compassionate action!

The start of this program is due to the donation by UNESCO Chair of Peace Studies at Nanjing University and Professor Liu Cheng of Nanjing: City of Peace. Many City of Peace leaders applied but complete information was provided by 13 leaders from the following communities: Fizi, D.R. Congo; Monrovia, Liberia; Bamenda, Cameroon; Nateete, Uganda; Kubwa, Nigeria; Mathare, Kenya; Kabarnet, Kenya; Wamba, Nigeria; Kawempe, Uganda; Uyo, Nigeria; Kanyana, Uganda; Mwenga, D.R. Congo; and Kabmpo, Zambia.n.
