Reno, Nevada: City of Peace
We welcome Kathleen Walterscheld to the ICP Advisory Council as leader of Reno, Nevada: City of Peace. Kathleeen, husband Don, and their colleagues have laid out a practical vision for their community to foster a culture of peace:
According to Kathy: “There is a group of concerned citizens in Reno that meet every Monday night at the Reno Courthouse and meditate for peace as well as many Course In Miracle students.”

About the Reno Peace Workshop
Our early years are spent in relationships that define who we are; first in the womb with our mother and her environment, and then with our family and extended family. As children, we enter into relationships with our fellow students, teachers, and mentors. As adults, we establish relationships with our colleagues, spouses, children, grandchildren, and everyone else with whom we come in contact in the course of our lives.
Some of these relationships seem to work very well and others seem to involve nothing but conflict. This free interactive workshop is designed to help participants: 1) understand how we came to be who we are, 2) learn that we have belief and behavior options, and, finally, 3) integrate some of these new beliefs and behaviors into our very being, if we chose to do so.
The weekly presentations highlight the works of a number of well-known authors and speakers from widely diverse fields such as medical research, cellular biology, religion and spirituality, motivational speaking, relationship skills and research, metaphysics, and sports performance. Each of the authors and speakers offers seminars and workshops, alone or in conjunction with others, which provide one or more pieces of a larger puzzle. Fred Jakolat is the moderator, and occasional presenter.
The objective of this workshop is to connect and integrate all of the puzzle pieces of Gratitude, Empathy, Forgiveness, Trust, Unconditional Love, and Compassion into a complete picture and give participants a process through which they can achieve Peace and improve all of their relationships.
The meetings are held at the Neil Road Recreation Center, 3925 Neil Road, off Mauldin Lane, three blocks south of Moana. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the meeting will start at 6:30 PM and end no later than 8:30 PM.
