Above is a visual of peacemakers who have shown leadership in the success of International Cities of Peace. We thank each one of our Facilitators, Board Members, Liaisons, Advisors, Donors, and Friends for choosing to work hard and raise the bar for local and global peace.
FROM THE CHAIR
โโฆ acts of love and service are much more common in this world than conflicts and quarrels.โ

In 2020, the Board of Directors approved an important document that defined priorities for the nonprofit during 2020-2025. Strategic Vision: 1000 Cities of Peace. That document has brought our global nonprofit to over 400 Cities of Peace in 75 countries on all six continents. In March, we celebrated 15 years of progress. The Strategic Plan in 2020 put in place a well-thought strategy to do the following:
- Achieve substantial on-the-ground impact across the globe.
- Leap across the many global barriers that prevent free access for peace work.
- Build a small effective ICP Central Team to support thousands of ICP leaders.
We did it. And we did it TOGETHER. (See the graphic above, hundreds of people intricately involved!). We have a long way to go but the accomplishments so far show the way::
- Empowerment: Peace leaders have greater authority in their community
- Support: A strong, professional ICP Central Facilitator Team
- Training: Educational programs in nonviolence and volunteerism
- Movement: City of Peace profiles and listings for all communities
- Mentoring: Colleague and donor programs to achieve sustainability
- Action: Program Plans launched in hundreds of peace communities
- Representation: Geneva and New York United Nations Status
- Promotions: Peace Day videos and City of Peace media outreach
- Innovation: ICP turns tired NGO methods right side up
- Scalable Network: 409 Cities of Peace and growing rapidly!
We are working in many war-torn countries, helping refuges, empowering peacemakers, etc., etc. The City of Peace movement is a powerful force for safety, prosperity and quality of life for people on all continents. The reason for growing the network? All โpeace boatsโ are lifted.
NOW, THIS MONTH, WE WILL GATHER IDEAS FOR THE NEXT FIVE-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN.
You are invited. We need you. Come to the Quarterly Zoom (Link at the top of this page). Send your ideas, comments, and questions. Participate in the future of peace!
Sincerely and with gratitude,
