Activates Volunteer Agents of Peace
FACTS from UNHCR: The population is increasing in the Kabazana Reception Centre, one of many in the Nakivale Refugee Settlement. Last week (Feb. 1-7, 2025) another 17 children and adults were resettled in Kabazana, increasing the packed village to 1,147 people — 868 Burundians, 244 Congolese and 35 Rwandans. What to do? Stand up for life-saving AID! In the meantime, ask Shabombo Ndeke Yannick, a refugee with a strong background in conflict resolution. To stem the tide of suffering, Shabombo Ndeke Yannick, a refugee with a background in conflict resolution, has created an International Cities of Peace (ICP) Peace Team in Kabazana Section C. His vision: “To unite and empower youths as active agents of peace, social cohesion, and sustainable development….” ICP Agents of Peace around the globe are in essential volunteer service to Humanity.

About the Community
IN RESPONSE to the dire plight of refugees in, western Region in particular, who are struggling to achieve better life standards, the founders of โโ Youth Empowerment for the Social Development โโ deemed it necessary to assist in giving holistic support with the mission to improve their living conditions. And whereas, we determine to dynamically, positively and effectively improve the economic conditions of the youths and other community members through advocacy, systems strengthening, empowerment of communities and vulnerable individual to foster resilience and sustainable improved living standards of refugees in Nakivale settlement. The Organization is basically aimed at establishment and operation of Youth Empowerment for the Social Development for the purpose the youth, community and making a positive living attractive. The organization is comprised of 50male and 50% male as a strategy of fostering gender inclusion and equality in our interventions.
