About Our Community “JAIPUR” Jaipur, the Pink City of Rajasthan, is a renowned tourist destination around the world and stands as a beacon of tourism. Jaipur is a captivating blend of history, culture, and modernity. Founded in 1727 by the Rajput Royal Family’s Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II Of Jaipur, its majestic forts, including the Amber Fort, and opulent palaces, such as the City Palace, reflects its royal heritage. Vibrant markets offer a kaleidoscope of colors, showcasing traditional handicrafts and jewelry. Jaipur has become an emerging global business centre. Amidst its historical splendor, Jaipur embraces contemporary life with street art and a burgeoning culinary scene. From the iconic Hawa Mahal to the bustling bazaars, Jaipur enchants visitors with its timeless charm and warm Rajasthani hospitality. Jaipur, the capital city of the Indian state of Rajasthan, earned the moniker "Pink City" due to its distinctive pink-colored buildings. This color scheme was implemented in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales, Edward VII, during his visit to India. The city was painted pink as pink was traditionally associated with hospitality, and the color was chosen to create a sense of warmth and welcome for the royal guest. The decision to paint the city pink was made by Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur, who wanted to give the city a distinctive look and identity. The use of pink sandstone in the construction of buildings further enhanced the city's pink hue. Since then, Jaipur has retained its pink color, making it one of the most recognizable cities in India. At the forefront of Jaipur's iconic landmarks are the majestic Amber Fort, a towering fortress built of red sandstone and marble, perched atop a hill overlooking the city. Nearby, the Nahargarh Fort, the Jaigarh Fort & the Jal Mahal, also known as the Water Palace, which emerges like a mirage from the waters of Man Sagar Lake, showcasing the seamless fusion of Mughal and Rajput architectural styles. Within the city, the City Palace stands as a testament to Jaipur's royal legacy, with its ornate courtyards, sprawling gardens, and exquisite palaces that offer a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the erstwhile Maharajas. One of Jaipur's most iconic structures is the Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds, a stunning facade of intricately carved windows and balconies that once allowed royal ladies to view the street processions unseen. This architectural marvel, with its lattice-like design and honeycomb structure, continues to enthrall visitors with its ethereal beauty and historical significance. Jaipur's bustling bazaars, such as Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar, are a treasure trove of vibrant colors, aromatic spices, and exquisite handicrafts. From intricately embroidered textiles and dazzling jewelry to vibrant pottery and traditional Rajasthani attire, Jaipur's markets offer a sensory feast for visitors seeking to immerse themselves in the city's rich cultural tapestry. In addition to its architectural splendor and vibrant markets, Jaipur is a hub of cultural festivals and events that celebrate the city's heritage and traditions. The annual Jaipur Literature Festival, held against the backdrop of the historic Diggi Palace, attracts literary enthusiasts from around the world for engaging discussions, book launches, and cultural performances. Similarly, festivals like Teej and Gangaur offer a glimpse into Jaipur's colorful customs and rituals, with vibrant processions, traditional music, and dance performances. Jaipur's culinary scene is as diverse as its culture, with a tantalizing array of flavors and aromas that reflect the city's multicultural heritage. In recent years, Jaipur has emerged as a global centre of trade, education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Jaipur is poised to become a leading destination for innovation and enterprise in India. Despite its modern aspirations, Jaipur remains deeply rooted in its cultural heritage and traditions, offering a harmonious blend of old-world charm and contemporary allure. As the Pink City continues to evolve and grow, it remains a timeless symbol of India's rich past and promising future.
