IN RESPONSE to the dire plight of refugees in, western Region in particular, who are struggling to achieve better life standards, the founders of ‘’ Youth Empowerment for the Social Development ‘’ deemed it necessary to assist in giving holistic support with the mission to improve their living conditions. And whereas, we determine to dynamically, positively and effectively improve the economic conditions of the youths and other community members through advocacy, systems strengthening, empowerment of communities and vulnerable individual to foster resilience and sustainable improved living standards of refugees in Nakivale settlement. The Organization is basically aimed at establishment and operation of Youth Empowerment for the Social Development for the purpose the youth, community and making a positive living attractive. The organization is comprised of 50male and 50% male as a strategy of fostering gender inclusion and equality in our interventions.

Our practical goals and objectives include: empowering 10,000 youths as peacebuilders and change-makers; establishing 500 community development projects; providing peace education and conflict resolution training to 50,000 young people; advocating for policy changes that support youth empowerment and peacebuilding in 10 countries; and building a global network of 5,000 young peacebuilders.

I'm Shabombo Ndeke Yannick, a dedicated peacebuilder with a strong background in community development and conflict resolution. As a team leader, I've worked extensively with youths, promoting peace education, social cohesion, and sustainable development. My expertise includes mediation, negotiation, and advocacy. I've collaborated with local and international organizations, governments, and communities to build peace and promote development in Africa.
Yes, I approve the guidelines for an International City of Peace and will provide four or more additional approved signatures of community Peace Team members (see next registration field). "A culture of peace is a set of values, attitudes, traditions and modes of behavior and ways of life based on respect for life, ending of violence and promotion and practice of non-violence through education, dialogue and cooperation. Tenets include: Full respect for and promotion of all human rights and fundamental freedoms; Commitment to peaceful settlement of conflicts; Efforts to meet the developmental and environmental needs of present and future generations; Respect for and promotion of the right to development; Respect for and promotion of equal rights and opportunities for women and men; Respect for and promotion of the right of everyone to freedom of expression, opinion and information; Adherence to the principles of freedom, justice, democracy, tolerance, solidarity, cooperation, pluralism, cultural diversity, dialogue and understanding at all levels of society and among nations; and fostered by an enabling national and international environment conducive to peace." In addition, the Golden Rule - "Do for others as you would have them do for you" -- provides a unity proposition for personal, local and global peace.
